The car park at Mick Delahunty Square in front of the Museum will be transformed into a medieval settlement to celebrate Clonmel’s origins as a medieval walled town. There will be an opportunity for visitors to interact with the living history specialists, to ask questions and handle artefacts associated with war, food, medicine and crafts. There will also be traditional craft demonstrations in wood/stone carving, farrier, spinning and straw craft. There will even be battle training. The School of Irish Archaeology who ran our recent summer camps will be there with the Big Dig for all to take part in.
The event will run from 11am to 4pm and is a drop in style event, with free admission.
